What is Design?
Design is something that seems direct, but the word design communicates different things to different people. At it’s core, design adds value to products and brands. Good design multiplies the return on investment for any producer.
As focused as we are about what we do, designers struggle to clearly communicate what we bring to the mix for new brands and producers. The short answer is that design is about making things. We make things better. We think about the variables and come up with a creative solution to the “problem”. Better solutions mean more sales in more markets around the world.
For Nxakt, we define design philosophically, as the method of intending an outcome based on a series of inputs and objectives. Design intent to reach a market product objective. To arrange the various and sometimes nebulous factors into a coherent chain of events that will achieve a targeted result. For industrial design, we take the ideas, methods and physical forms and aim to meet the needs of as many users as possible. Similar to taking a golf swing, and of the variables, practice and muscle memory that come into play. Design is what we do every day. We create design solutions for a variety of clients in a variety of industries. With each project we bring that knowledge and experience into play.
We intend, or design, a solution to a given task. This process is a series of discreet events. Ranging from conceptual at the beginning to small, very literal calculations and specifications at the end, the manufacturing process. This process is in parts inexact, hence the origin of our name. A modification of the word, in·ex·act/ˌinigˈzakt/. Our belief is that inspiration comes from “between the lines”, the gray areas between the existing and the possible. We seek to turn the possible into strong realities.
Design encompasses a wide range of disciplines, from the artistic to the sciences, to the hands on industrial. No area is less important than the other, they exist in a balance. We know creativity. We know tools and processes. We know science and engineering. We are students of the way users think. We bring this all together to make the best products for our customers.
We have created products that have won Olympic gold medals, are in a permanent museum collection, and have won multiple awards. Let us put our experience and talent to work for you.
